Madrid reaffirms its position as a 365-day-a-year destination

25 September, 2024

The results of the survey carried out by the Madrid Hotel Business Association (AEHM) confirm that the capital has consolidated its position as a 365-day-a-year destination this summer, with an average occupancy rate of 69% in July and August, exceeding all expectations.

These results, as underlined by Mar de Miguel, executive vice-president of the AEHM, “confirm Madrid’s great capacity to attract visitors all year round, even in traditionally quieter months. The city’s cultural and events offer, such as the Kalorama Festival, the Intergift Fair, and the numerous concerts and festivals, have been key elements in achieving these good results”.

Madrid has thus managed, he added, “to consolidate its position on the world stage, completing its revival as an inimitable tourist enclave. It is now the third most important urban destination in the world and, for the fifth consecutive year, it remains the leading global business destination”.
