Barcelona’s tourist buses will be electric
16 October, 2024Barcelona City Tour, a joint venture formed by Grupo Juliá and Moventis, will manage one of the tourist bus services offered in Barcelona for a further twelve years. All 44 coaches will be electric vehicles. The new service will be launched at the beginning of 2025 and on the first day 15 electric coaches and 30 conventional coaches will be in operation.
Note that two tourist bus services operate in the Catalan capital. The first to be put into operation, in 1987, is the Barcelona Bus Turístic. It is operated by the public company Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) and the Turisme de Barcelona consortium.
The second is Barcelona City Tour, operated by Julià Travel and Moventis. The concession of this service depends on the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB). Now, the joint venture made up of Julià and Moventis has once again won the tender opened by the AMB last March.
