5 Riu hotels receive Aenor certification for their circularity
23 October, 2024The Riu Hotels chain & Resorts has received the AENOR certification that endorses the circularity plans applied in five hotels in Mallorca and Formentera, as part of the Proudly Committed strategy and its commitment to sustainability. The chain intends to implement these plans in the rest of the establishments, always adapting them to the conditions of each destination.
The circularity plans comply with the articles of Law 3/2022, of 15 June 2022, concerning urgent measures for the sustainability and circularity of tourism in the Balearic Islands and represent a profound transformation in the way the chain operates.
Spain’s leading certification body has endorsed the circularity plans of the Riu Playa Park, Riu Concordia, Riu Bravo, Riu Festival and Riu San Francisco hotels in Playa de Palma and the Riu La Mola in Formentera. According to the chain, this endorsement “goes beyond the legal requirement to make this project an important step forward in its global sustainability strategy”.
