Mallorca hosts the 3rd UN Tourism Summit of Sustainable Destinations

The Consell de Mallorca, in collaboration with the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UN Tourism), has held the 3rd Sustainable Destinations Summit. The international event was held at the Hotel Zoëtry Mallorca and brought together decision-makers, experts and opinion leaders from the tourism and related sectors, with the aim of moving towards a more sustainable future.

The two-day summit addressed the challenges and opportunities facing tourism destinations in their transformation towards sustainability. On 17 and 18 October, keynote lectures, panel discussions and interviews explored key issues, fostering dialogue and cooperation among participants.

The summit consisted of eight panels and at least three speeches by almost 40 representatives from organisations such as Atlantic Sustainable Tourism Observatory, Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), Tourism Affairs Department Austria, Inter-american Development Bank, Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association (TOTA) Canada, World Health Organization for Europe (WHO), World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, UNDP Malaysia, among others.
