14 wine tourism experiences in Spain win awards in 2024

The 7th edition of the Wine Tourism Awards Rutas del Vino de España has its winners. The Spanish Association of Wine Cities (ACEVIN), organiser of this initiative through its Wine Routes of Spain product club, has announced the awards that recognise some of the most outstanding wine tourism initiatives.

The Wine Tourism Awards, which are biennial in nature and have no financial grants, recognise the work and effort made by the companies that make up the Wine Routes of Spain in the development of quality wine tourism. A total of 123 applications were submitted for this edition. The proposals competed in 14 categories, 13 of which were competing and one meritorious.

  1. Best Wine Tourism Initiative: Pedal-powered Wine Tourism (Rías Baixas Wine Route).

  2. Best Promotional Action: Road trip para almas foodies [Road trip for foodie souls] (Montilla-Moriles Wine Route).

  3. Best Sustainable and Responsible Wine Tourism Destination_ Green Flag: (La Garnacha Wine Route).

  4. Best Wine Tourism Municipality: Peñafiel (Ribera del Duero Wine Route).

  5. Best Winery Open to Tourism: Enate Winery (Somontano Wine Route).

  6. Best Wine Tourism Accommodation: Casa Gran 1771 Boutique Winery Hotel de Bodega Montrubí (Penedès Wine Route).

  7. Best Gastro Offer: Martín Berasategui Gastrobodega (Rueda Wine Route).

  8. Best Wine Tourism Establishment: Posada Real Castillo del Buen Amor (Zamora Wine Route).

  9. Best Wine Tourism Experience: Noche de Estrellas. Torres Family (Penedès Wine Route).

  10. Best Wine Tourism Spot or Landscape: Fillaboa Winery (Rías Baixas Wine Route).

  11. Commitment to Sustainability: '12 months, 12 wines, 12 causes. Las causas de Vitorino Eguren' Bodegas Eguren Ugarte (Rioja Alavesa Wine Route).

  12. Promotion of Inclusive Wine Tourism: Museum of Aromas (Ribera del Duero Wine Route).

  13. Protection and Enhancement of Heritage: Luis Ángel Bakery (Campo de Cariñena Wine Route).

  14. Special Award for Merit in Wine Tourism: Isaac Muga Caño (Rioja Alta Wine Route).
