Lanzarote hosts iBlue Blue Tourism Congress
13 November, 2024Lanzarote welcomed international experts, environmental activists, researchers and entrepreneurs at the iBlue Blue Tourism Congress (Blue Islands Innovation Summit), which was held in early November in the incomparable setting of Jameos del Agua.
This event, which was attended by major companies such as Microsoft, MasterCard, Mabrian, Telefónica, Orange and iUrban, reaffirms the island’s commitment to the blue economy and sustainable development. “Lanzarote has become an international benchmark in the sustainable management of its resources, thanks to digitalisation and artificial intelligence, which guarantee that the natural beauty of our island will last for future generations,” said the president of the island’s Cabildo [town council], Oswaldo Betancort.
The iBlue Congress, designed for blue economy institutions, managers, companies and activists, aims to raise awareness of the importance of marine sustainability in the local and international community.
