Valencia improves sustainability with hotels 200 metres from the coastline
13 November, 2024The parties in the Valencian regional government have agreed on a series of compromise amendments to the Simplifica Plan in the Valencian Parliament, one of which introduces a change in urban planning and gives the green light to the construction of hotel establishments 200 metres from the seafront.
In the Simplifica Plan, the regional executive introduced an article to modify the law on territorial protection and lower the construction limitation from 500 to 100 metres.
After months of negotiations, the parliamentary groups agreed to introduce a paragraph stating that “tertiary hotel buildings may not be located at a distance of less than 200 metres measured from the first line of land not bathed by the sea”, taking up the original proposal of the Department of the Environment.
