Zaragoza to hold an international wine festival in June

22 January, 2025

Zaragoza City Council wants to take advantage of all the knowledge that exists in the province and make it known to tourists, with an ambitious project that identifies the city with the Garnacha grape and which includes wine tourism breaks, a vineyard in the city, a scientific congress and an open Garnacha festival, among other proposals.

“If Zaragoza already exceeded 1.2 million tourists in November (10% more than the previous year) and 2 million overnight stays, it’s because all of us here are doing well. It’s because Zaragoza has enough heritage, art and charm for the public to choose us. It’s because we have a first class gastronomic offer”, commented the Mayoress Natalia Chueca.

With the aim of continuing to offer “unique experiences”, she said, the City Council is launching this new project “aimed at highlighting the fact that within a radius of less than 90 kilometres we have the best designations of origin producing Garnacha, the fifth most important grape variety in the world”.
