Iberia exceeds 30 million passengers for the first time
22 January, 2025The Iberia Group reached a new air passenger record in 2024, with 30,732,745 people transported in the last 12 months, which is 7% more than in the previous year, as reported by the company in a statement released on Wednesday. The milestone was achieved by adding the activity of the three airlines integrated in its structure: Iberia, Iberia Express, Iberia Regional Air Nostrum.
With regard to the reasons for the positive evolution recorded over the last year, Iberia has detailed that the increase in demand for both business and leisure travel and the positive evolution in all markets, especially Latin America and the new destinations launched in the last year, explain this result in maximums.
Specifically, the growth has occurred in the three airlines that make up the business group: the main airline has transported 18.7 million passengers (17.7 million a year earlier); Iberia Express, 7.7 million (7.05 million in 2023) and Air Nostrum nearly 4.4 million (compared to 3.9 million in the previous year).
