Hyatt buys three holiday resorts in Tenerife

Hyatt Hotels Corporation strengthens its commitment to Spain, more specifically to the island of Tenerife, with the purchase of three hotels for 120 million euros and with over 1,000 rooms. The establishments belonged to the British fund Blantyre Capital, which acquired them in 2020 from the Gema Hoteles chain for 50 million euros, to which they added another 20 for refurbishment.

The three assets purchased by Hyatt are the Alua Atlántico Golf Resort hotel in San Miguel de Abona, the Alua Tenerife and the Alua Soul Orotava Valley in Puerto de la Cruz. The resorts, which have a total of more than 1,200 rooms, were already being managed by Hyatt, according to the financial newspaper Expansión.

Hyatt’s portfolio in the Canary Islands - based on its establishments - includes the aforementioned hotels, as well as the AluaSoul Costa Adeje, the Dreams Jardín Tropical Resort & Spa and Hotel Boutique San Diego in Tenerife as well as Secrets Bahía Real Resorts & Spa, Alua Suites and Alua Villages in Fuerteventura and Cesar Lanzarote, Dreams Lanzarote Playa Dorada, Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa and Secrets Bahía Real Resorts & Spa in Lanzarote.
