Meliá to open a new hotel in the centre of Palma

12 March, 2025

A hotel located opposite the Plaza de España and the Parque de las Estaciones, in the centre of Palma (Mallorca), will soon bear the Meliá Hotels International brand. The establishment was previously part of UR Hotels and several chains were interested in adding it to their portfolios.

The Palacio Avenida hotel opened its doors in 2009 in a building constructed in 1942 that housed the historic Cine Avenida de Palma. The restoration of the building was carried out by the architect Bruno Borrione, from the team of Philippe Starck, who maintained the original design of iconic elements such as the façade and the interior staircase.

The boutique hotel is a 4-star establishment with 68 rooms, a bar, a restaurant and three modular conference rooms with a capacity of up to 80 people. The establishment will undergo an upgrade to raise its standards and adapt them to the chain. With this addition, the chain now has 24 establishments open in Mallorca.
