Is Spain a destination of choice for digital nomads?
26 March, 2025In Europe, the number of countries offering specific visas for digital nomads continues to grow. However, the financial requirements vary significantly between them. While some states require a high income, others allow access with lower amounts. Spain, for example, has increased its threshold in 2025, but is still not among the most demanding.
The Spanish government has increased the financial requirement for the digital nomad visa in 2025. The minimum threshold has been adjusted to €2,762 per month, an increase of more than €100 over the previous year. This calculation is based on 200% of the minimum wage, which has been updated following an agreement with the country's main trade unions.

Despite this adjustment, Spain still offers one of the most affordable options compared to other European countries. While in the north and east of the continent the requirements can exceed €4,000 per month, in the Mediterranean region and the Balkans more moderate figures are maintained.
