Street food shines at Spain’s spring tourist events

11 April, 2025

The spring season of 2025 is marking a change in the gastronomic offer of tourist events in Spain, with a growing presence of food trucks and mobile stalls as a central part of the experience. According to the Spanish Association of Gastronomic Tourism, 65% of fair and festival organisers plan to incorporate this format, 15% over the previous year.

Travellers increasingly value dynamic culinary offerings that are connected to local culture. In fact, 78% of them prefer authentic experiences to traditional formats. Destinations such as Castellón, Valencia, Malaga and Seville already have a high participation of food trucks, with events including between 20 and 30 units per event.

This model not only offers logistical agility and greater gastronomic variety - from Mediterranean cuisine to vegan and gourmet options - but also more sustainable practices. 60% of operators already use compostable packaging and proximity ingredients.

With a 30% growth in the contracting of these services, it is estimated that more than 500 events across the country will integrate street food proposals before the summer, consolidating this format as a regular part of experiential tourism.
