Iconic Victoria Hotel reopens as urban luxury in Palma

23 April, 2025

After a €12 million investment, the Hotel Victoria Gran Meliá has re-opened its doors, marking the return of an icon of the city of Palma. The project has been conceived to renew the luxury experience and recover the hotel’s role as a social and cultural benchmark in the Balearic capital.

Originally opened in the 1920s as Villa Victoria, the hotel was an extension of the Gran Hotel de Palma and a meeting point for the local and international elite between the 1950s and 1970s. In its new phase, it offers 171 renovated rooms with views of the harbour and the cathedral, as well as the Victoria Grand Café, a gastronomic venue open all day long, with local products and a terrace designed to recover the social dynamism of the place. The architectural studio ASAH, led by Álvaro and Adriana Sans, was responsible for the complete redesign.

The reopening coincides with the imminent completion of Palma’s new seafront promenade. In addition, the hotel’s relaunch campaign is the first for the Gran Meliá brand to incorporate artificial intelligence to recreate historical scenes of the hotel through restored images.
