Six Spanish destinations among the favourites for senior tourism
23 April, 2025Spain consolidates its position in European senior tourism with six destinations among the top 20 best rated by the over 65s, according to a TUI Musement analysis based on experience reviews. The selected islands and regions stand out for offering peaceful environments, pleasant climates and cultural and natural proposals that respond to the preferences of this traveller profile, increasingly relevant for the deseasonalisation of the sector.
La Palma and Menorca top the Spanish list. The first, for its leisurely pace and natural offer, such as the Roque de los Muchachos or the Caldera de Taburiente; the second, for its historical and coastal heritage. These are joined by Lanzarote and Tenerife, in 12th and 14th place respectively, which stand out for their consistently good climate and year-round accessibility. Barcelona and the Costa del Sol close the group.
TUI Musement claims that Spain is consolidating its position as a benchmark for senior tourism, in a demographic context where the over-65s now represent over 21% of the European population and show a growing preference for travelling out of season, thus promoting deseasonalisation.
