Spain could reach 99 million international tourists by 2025

7 May, 2025

According to Joan Molas, president of the Mesa del Turisme, the performance of tourism at Easter is a key indicator of how the year will develop. In 2025, the period ended with an increase of 1.2% in domestic tourism and 4.5% in international tourism, figures that reinforce the forecast of reaching between 98 and 99 million international tourists in Spain, if there are no significant alterations. Growth in the first four months of the year was around 6%, consolidating a positive trend that could extend to the whole year.

Behind this growth lies, in addition to the improvement in international tourism, the recovery of the MICE segment, which has experienced a constant demand, distributed between large cities and provincial capitals. A positive, though not extraordinary, snow season has also contributed, with good levels of snow in the main resorts.

Advance bookings for May and June augur a favourable summer, with an upturn in markets such as the British, German, French and Italian. Growth also came from Eastern Europe, Asia and Latin America, with a stronger performance in the aftermath of the pandemic.
