Airports in Spain: 8 million international passengers in March
7 May, 2025In March 2025, Spanish airports received 8 million international passengers, an increase of 5.7% compared to the same month of the previous year, according to data from Turespaña. In the accumulated first quarter, Spain has reached more than 21 million international passengers, an increase of 6.4% compared to the same period in 2024. This development consolidates the trend of recovery and sustained growth in the airline industry.
Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport was the main entry point, with 2.1 million arrivals (+6.3%), followed by Barcelona-El Prat, which received 1.6 million (+2.9%). Malaga also recorded a notable growth of 9.8%, with 796,937 passengers. However, it was Valencia airport that experienced the greatest year-on-year increase, with 19.5% more arrivals than in March 2024, standing out as the most dynamic among the country’s main infrastructures.

The UK, with nearly 1.6 million international passengers, generated 20% of the total flow of arrivals to Spain in March, registering a year-on-year increase of 2.3%. The Canaries had the highest number of passengers of this nationality, with 35.7% of the total.
