Spanish chain Bluesea buys Meeting Point hotels in Spain
21 May, 2025Spanish hotel chain Bluesea Hotels has acquired the Spanish hotel business of Meeting Point, owned by FTI Touristik, consolidating its presence in the Canary Islands. The transaction, authorised by the CNMC, has been backed by the main financial creditors, including SEPI’s Solvency Support Fund for Strategic Enterprises (FASEE).
Meeting Point managed 15 leased hotels under the brands Labranda Hotels & Resorts, MP Hotels, Design Plus Hotels, BEX Hotels and Lemon & Soul Hotels, with a total of 1,922 rooms in Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Bluesea assumes the debt of the restructuring plan and brings capital into the group, while maintaining the existing contracts with the owners.

This operation responds to Bluesea’s strategic plan to strengthen its positioning in the 3 and 4 star segment, supported by Portobello Capital, its main shareholder. With this purchase, the chain adds almost 7,000 rooms, over 3,800 of them in the Canary Islands, reinforcing its role as one of the main operators in the archipelago.
