Three Spanish airlines, among the most punctual in Europe
21 May, 2025Three Spanish airlines were among the most punctual in Europe in April, according to Cirium’s monthly air punctuality report. Iberia Express, with an index of 87.2%, has climbed to fourth place in the European ranking after improving more than five points compared to March. It is followed by Vueling, with 87% punctuality, in fifth place, while Iberia has achieved 86%, placing it in seventh place.
Globally, Iberia has returned to the world punctuality ranking, in sixth place with 15,239 flights operated, a 99% flight following rate and a 98% completion factor. It has thus overtaken airlines such as British Airways, LATAM Airlines, Azul and KLM.
The Cirium report also highlights that punctuality has been an upward trend in April, with declines in cancellation rates. In Europe, these have fallen from 8% to 5.3%, while in Asia Pacific they have fallen from 24% to 19%.
These results reinforce the good operational performance of the Spanish airline industry, especially in a context of recovering demand and improved service efficiency.
