Diving with bluefin tuna: the new adventure on the Costa Dorada
30 July, 2025Tuna Tour has inaugurated a new immersive experience that is unique in the world: the Tuna Tour Try Dive, which allows you to swim among hundreds of bluefin tuna without any previous experience. From 3 July, anyone can dive into the aquaculture pools located off the coast of L’Ametlla de Mar (Tarragona), thus expanding the company's catalogue of activities, which already included snorkelling and advanced diving options.
The activity includes a trip in an 18-metre catamaran to the marine facilities two and a half miles from the coast, the dive supervised by professional instructors, equipment and insurance, audiovisual projections in five languages and a gastronomic tasting of Balfegó bluefin tuna at the end. This experience is part of the 13th season of Tuna Tour, consolidated as one of the most unique adventure tourism offers in the Mediterranean.
Tuna Tour’s initiative reinforces its commitment to responsible and sustainable tourism. In 2024, there were over 20,000 visitors and it expects to break records this year, highlighting the ecological, social and gastronomic value of bluefin tuna, and positioning the Costa Dorada as a benchmark destination for marine tourism.
