Spanish hotels are investing in robotics
6 April, 2022The Hotel Technological Institute (ITH) has taken a step forward in expanding the implementation of collaborative robotics and artificial intelligence solutions in the sector. The institute has reached an agreement with the company Bumerania, which offers a wide range of solutions that can be customised according to the client's needs.
The implementation of robotics in hotel operation processes is in line with the challenges set out in both the National and Integral Tourism Plan (PNIT) and the future Sustainable Tourism Strategy for Spain 2030. Efficiency would increase considerably if the different operations were automated, according to a study carried out by ITH.
Receptionist robots, waiter robots, cleaning and disinfection robots, luggage carrier robots, interactive table robots and even a four-legged robot capable of carrying out surveillance and security tasks both outdoors and indoors are just some of the examples offered to ITH and its partners by the Alicante-based technology company.
