British cycle tourists rate Mallorca and the Canary Islands

Mallorca is the destination that generates the most interest among British cycle tourists. 38% of them chose this island as one of their top 3 destinations to go cycling. This is the main result from a survey conducted on 500 bike fans at the London Cycle show, which was held recently.

The data collected reveals that the Canary Islands also generate some interest. 15% of those surveyed chose Tenerife as one of their favourite destinations, 8% chose Gran Canaria, and 5.9% chose Lanzarote.

In addition to the above, there is also interest in destinations such as Girona. 7.4% of those surveyed were interested in this destination, along with Sierra Nevada, which accounted for 5% of votes. It is also worth mentioning that Barcelona was very popular, with 5.6% of Brits showing interest in the Catalonian capital.

With regards to how they travel, the Brits who were surveyed said that they mostly travelled with friends (30%), as a couple (28%), or with family (22%), and a remarkable 14% of people said they travel alone. A smaller proportion of those surveyed travel with sports clubs, which makes up 5% of the results.
