The best way to spend July in Gran Canaria is with the beach and cheese

Gran Canaria will host the second edition of the Foro Internacional del Queso, the Gran Canaria Cheese Meeting. Taking place at Infecar on 11 and 12 July, it will involve leading Spanish chefs and international specialists presenting their work with the product, an integral part of the island’s cuisine.

Over the course of two days, there will be a total of 7 culinary demonstrations, 2 round tables, 4 case studies and 3 workshops given by international leaders in cheese culture. In addition, the 1st International Cheese Sandwich Championship will be held.

“We want to promote and highlight the value of the cheese culture that exists in Gran Canaria, as well as the great quality of our cheeses and the immense possibilities they offer for different culinary creations. In short, we want Gran Canaria to be recognised as an international benchmark in cheese culture and for it to be an attraction for tourists who come to the island intending to enjoying our climate and landscapes, but who are also interested in discovering our gastronomy”, said the Councillor for Tourism, Carlos Álamo.
