A 4* hotel opens in a palace in the historic El Maestrazgo region

6 July, 2022

At the beginning of June, the region of El Maestrazgo, located between Teruel and Castellón, opend a new four-star hotel: Palacio Matutano-Daudén. Situated in the La Iglesuela del Cid area, it’s steeped in history and has great artistic value. Built in 1773, it was declared a National Monument in 1931. The views from the large windows in its grand hall are spectacular.

Its façade and interiors have been preserved to achieve a design that combines tradition, luxury and excellence, although important restoration work has also been carried out to ensure a welcoming and comfortable environment. It has 35 double rooms and a large suite, which retains the same style of decoration as when the Palace was still used as a personal residence.

One of the hotel’s most outstanding features is its Torre de los Nublos restaurant, which can be enjoyed both by guests and those simply looking for a unique gastronomic experience. The establishment is also committed to sustainability, offering carefully prepared dishes based on local and seasonal products supplied by small local producers, and wines from wineries in the region.
