This is how AI will be used to build wine tourist loyalty

13 July, 2022

The Ribera del Duero Wine Route has signed a collaboration agreement with Tourism Data Driven Solutions (TDDS), promoter of the Cleverus project together with Air Institute and AC+ Consultores, to become a participating destination in a new tourism intelligence initiative.

The main aim of the technology, developed in Blockchain, is to innovate the traditional customer loyalty programme model and adapt it to the new tourist environment and trends. The Cleverus software is designed so that destinations can create their own loyalty clubs that are both transparent and secure.

This new approach will also improve the user experience, as they’ll be free to decide what to do with the points they earn when purchasing tourist services at the destination: exchanging them at other tourist establishments or donating them to environmental, social and cultural causes, which will have a direct impact on the well-being of the local community.

Blockchain technology makes it possible to set up the Route’s own ‘currency’ and, thanks to Artificial Intelligence and analysis of the data collected on tourists, customer loyalty programmes can be created that are able to recommend and develop personalised services, products and tourist packages based on their behavioural pattern.
