To date, Spain has received 676% more cruise passengers
19 October, 2022Spanish ports registered a total of 4.4 million cruise passengers between the months of January and August, this represents 676.3% more than in the same period last year, when 567,159 passengers were recorded. Although it should be noted that 2021 was a weak year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the figures, up to August, 3,835,560 more cruise passengers were registered than in the same period last year, as published by Puertos del Estado. The Spanish body has specified that only in August there were 915,212 passengers, compared to 171,665 in the same month of 2021. This gives an idea of the positive evolution of 2022.
Therefore, according to the aforementioned public body’s data, the general activity of passenger traffic presented a positive evolution in the first eight months of the year, up to a total of 21.9 million passengers, 4.4 million of whom are cruise passengers, 112.9% more than in the same period of 2021.
