Jaén leading the creation of an oil tourism programme
28 December, 2022Jaén has launched a project to create an Oil Tourism Experience Programme which covers the existing offer of this type of proposal throughout the Spanish territory based on the unique landscape of olive groves and the cultivation of olive oil. They will work together from the different territories“to position this tourist product nationally and internationally”.
Likewise, they intend to attract travellers interested “in knowing, experiencing, connecting and understanding the culture of olive groves, olive oil and the lifestyle and customs which characterise the people who are lucky enough to live in these producing areas”, explained Jaén city council.
The OleotourJaén experience currently brings together around 130 resources, including restaurants and oil mills that can be visited, spas, unique accommodation, tasting rooms, cosmetics companies, tourist services, EVOO tastings, museums and interpretation centres, olive wood craft companies or farmhouses and particular areas.
