Spanish urban destinations will be better than 2019

Urban destinations in Spain have managed to grow in percentage terms in the market above the levels registered before the pandemic. San Sebastian is in first place followed by Las Palmas in Gran Canaria, Bilbao, Santiago de Compostela, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca and Valencia. A progression which refers to hotel stays as its main indicator.

According to a recent report, the cities that grew the most in the number of booked hotel nights were San Sebastián (+23.74%), Las Palmas in Gran Canaria (+21.33%), Bilbao (+18.77%) and Santiago (+12.72%), using the months of July 2019 and 2022 as a reference.

Overall, San Sebastián, registered an increase of 23% in July, with Las Palmas in Gran Canaria in second position, the number of hotel overnight stays given by the INE data, in the same month, is 104,019. Up by 21.33% compared to what was registered in the capital of Gran Canaria in July 2019 (85,733).
