Mallorca seeks allies to boost its sustainability
29 March, 2023Mallorca and Green & Human, the non-profit organisation created to accelerate the transformation of tourist destinations towards more competitive and sustainable models at an environmental, social and economic level, will carry out a collaboration strategy for the development of joint projects. All actions are conceived with the fundamental benchmark of compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the 2030 Agenda, promoted by the United Nations.
The Minister of Tourism of the Consell de Mallorca, an insular institution responsible for tourism promotion and management, Andreu Serra and the president of Green&Human, Ginés Martínez, have signed an action protocol whereby the island becomes one of the only two destinations, (the other is Tenerife), which will form part of this entity which promotes sustainability in the tourism sector.
Green & Human, led by Jumbo Tours, Apple Leisure Group/Hyatt, Viajes El Corte Inglés and its methodological partner Biosphere, represents over 80 companies in the tourism sector, all aiming to transform and invest in initiatives aimed at increasing the destination's competitiveness and attracting higher quality, responsible tourism with the natural environment and the territory.
