Spanish airports will facilitate the passage of disabled people
10 May, 2023Aena has launched an initiative to improve care for passengers with invisible disabilities at Spanish airports. This is a badge that can be requested through the Aena website and that allows airport staff to identify the people who wear it in order to facilitate and improve their airport experience.
This system has been in operation since the end of April at eleven airports: Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández, César Manrique-Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Ibiza, Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, Málaga-Costa del Sol, Palma de Mallorca, Sevilla, Tenerife Sur and Valencia. The aim is to gradually extend to the rest.
This badge, aimed at people with invisible disabilities who have difficulties in stressful environments or with considerable sensory stimulation, indicates that the person may need support, help or simply understanding and a little more time before any airport process. Therefore, they will be able to access the security control dedicated to families and people with reduced mobility.
