The best Spanish beach destination, according to National Geographic
17 May, 2023For the first time in its history, National Geographic Travel magazine has announced awards for the best destinations in the world. An award which readers have chosen as members of the largest community of Spanish-speaking travellers on the planet through a vote that was open until 19 March at 11:59 p.m.
Alejandra Ferrer, vice-president of the Island Council and Formentera’s Tourism minister, collected the award at a ceremony held in Madrid on 25 April. She thanked the readers for their recognition, as well as the work of journalists and the media for their work in disseminating and bringing the destinations closer to the general public.
The finalists share values such as innovation, sustainability at all levels or the commitment to non-invasive tourism. Formentera, as the best beach destination in 2023, represents these values perfectly and continues to work to continue being a national and international benchmark in the tourism sector.
