The Spanish city which becomes the world coffee capital

L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, in Catalonia, will become the coffee capital when it hosts the first edition of the Forum Coffee Festival in La Farga, between 29 September and 1 October. The event will bring together some 10,000 people, including experts from the world of coffee, as well as coffee lovers and enthusiasts.

In addition, various activities will take place during the festival, such as the National Barista Pro Fórum Café Championship, where 16 professionals will compete for the title of the best barista in Spain. The competition will test the participants, who will have to demonstrate their skills in the disciplines of tasting, filter coffee, signature drink, origin, “latte art” and “espresso blend”.

There will also be a live demonstration by the chef Elías del Toro, from Seville’s Abades Triana restaurant where he will show with a show-cooking session that coffee is a very versatile ingredient. Among those attending the Forum will be such important personalities in the world of coffee as the director and founder of Syra Coffee, Yassir Rais and the trainer of the PROBAT Training Centre in Emmerich, Germany, Daniela Nowitzki.
