Madrid, third worldwide most attractive city for tourism in 2023
3 January, 2024The Spanish capital climbs one place compared to 2022 and comes only behind the cities of Paris and Dubai in the list of the 100 best urban destinations of the year. The Euromonitor report demonstrates the strong position that Madrid is acquiring as a tourist destination, the result of the intense work carried out over the last five years.
The Euromonitor ranking is drawn up taking into account over fifty parameters divided into six areas: economic and business competitiveness, tourism competitiveness, tourism infrastructure, tourism policy and attractiveness, health and safety, and sustainability.
Precisely, Madrid is the leader in this last category, sustainability, due to its commitment to the environment and its goal of becoming a carbon neutral destination by 2050, with an emission-free downtown area and the promotion of green transport as its main lines of action.
