Turespaña promotes the preservation of the Parador network
13 March, 2024The director general of the Spanish Tourism Institute (Turespaña), Miguel Sanz, and the president of Paradores, Raquel Sánchez, have presented the tender project for the Conservation Master Plans for the 53 buildings declared to be of Cultural Interest (BIC) that form part of the Paradores de Turismo network.
This initiative, part of the Spanish Government’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, is financed with 11 million euros, managed by Turespaña, and aims to conserve, rehabilitate and enhance the value of these BIC properties. The Conservation Master Plans will be completed before June 2026.
Sanz underlined that “the construction, maintenance and conservation of Parador buildings is a lesser-known work of Turespaña, but very important in the development of sustainable tourism models and as a tool for the conservation and enhancement of Spain’s historical and artistic heritage”.
