Andalusia to create a local tourism sustainability observatory
12 June, 2024The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport of the Andalusian Regional Government, the Andalusian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FAMP) and the Andalusian Confederation of Entrepreneurs (CEA) have agreed to create an observatory for local tourism sustainability to analyse in different working groups issues related to the development of this industry and its impact on the region’s municipalities.
The meeting has been planned with the aim of strengthening cooperation and dialogue around the development of the tourism industry as a sector of vital importance to the region, and is framed within the initiatives to promote the sustainable and balanced development of Andalusian tourism.
Thus, tax issues, sustainability, financing of local councils and maintenance of public services will be addressed within the FAMP, and the councillor pointed out that it is premature to raise possible new impacts on tourism until the impacts to be addressed identified by the working groups are known.
