New record of passengers in Spanish airports

New passenger record for the month of July in the Spanish airports of the Aena network, with around 32 million passengers. And since January, the figure has exceeded 176 million, anticipating what is sure to be a year-end that will once again go down in history. This continues the trend that has continued since the beginning of the year and has already started for a good part of 2023.

In terms of the number of operations - take-offs and landings - neither Madrid nor Barcelona airports have broken records in the seventh month of the year. In July 2024, Aena received 31.9 million passengers, 7.2% more than in the same month in 2023 and 259,841 aircraft movements were handled, 7.3% more than in 2023.

Of the total number of passengers in July, 31.8 million were commercial passengers: 22.2 [million] travelled on international flights, 8.9% more than in July 2023. Until July 2024, 176,051,893 passengers passed through Aena airports (10.6% more than in 2023) and 1,483,073 aircraft movements were recorded (+8%).
