The Andalusian city that has become an Smart Tourism Destination

28 August, 2024

The World Heritage city of Úbeda (Jaén) already has the report and action plan for becoming an Smart Tourism Destination. This initiative has been carried out within the framework of the implementation of the Tourism Sustainability Plan in Destinations, financed with European funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

The aim of this plan is to implement 12 actions to transform the current tourism model of the Andalusian city, divided into four programme axes. One of these axes details actions for turning Úbeda into an Smart Tourism Destination.

The work has been carried out around a single key element, which will help to differentiate this city from other competing destinations. "This will give us a comprehensive view of the actions implemented in Úbeda, around the strategic pillars of a Smart Tourist Destination and an action plan to initiate the effective transformation of the tourist destination," said the City Council.
