Low-cost airline ‘Iberia Express’ Europe's most punctual airline in July
28 August, 2024Spanish airline Iberia Express has emerged as the most punctual airline in Europe in July, both in the general category and among low-cost airlines, according to aviation analysis consultancy Cirium. That month, it operated a total of 4,025 flights, 8% more than in the same period in 2023, achieving an on-time arrival rate of 79.79%, placing it among the top five worldwide.
In 2023, the airline entered Cirium's overall ranking of European airlines for the first time, ranking as the most punctual airline in Europe with an 84.58% on-time performance rate. Until now, the airline has only been measured against low-cost airlines, among which it stood out as the most punctual in the world between 2014 and 2018 and the most punctual in Europe in 2022.
Iberia Express has announced a 15% increase in capacity in the Canary Islands this summer and will offer more than two million seats. Specifically, it will operate up to 10 daily flights each way between Gran Canaria and Madrid and up to nine between Tenerife North and Madrid, covering all daily slots and allowing the best connections.
