Malaga to welcome a luxury hotel to the former post office building
4 September, 2024Malaga City Council has made progress in the urban planning process that will enable the restoration of the former Post Office, a building which has been in disuse for 14 years, for the construction of a five-star or luxury hotel.
The local government board has approved the proposal to advance the planning study of the approved area of the Post Office building, requested by Nitsba Spain SL, the company owned by an Israeli tycoon who took over the property in 2019 after bidding 23.5 million in a public auction.
It has been confirmed that the hotel establishment must be a superior category hotel, specifically five-star or luxury, "after verifying that this type of establishment is found in Malaga in a smaller proportion in relation to cities of the same size", as reported by the City Council in a statement.
