Madrid to have a luxury hotel-theatre hotel in its city centre
18 September, 2024The Governing Board of the Madrid City Council has approved “a special urban development plan for the opening of a large hotel-theatre in the historic centre of Madrid that affects three buildings”, according to the council. This is the UMusic Hotel Teatro Reina Victoria, from the renovation of the Teatro Reina Victoria, the Edificio Meneses and the Casa Allende.
The new establishment located in Plaza Canalejas will combine high standard accommodation with entertainment. The promoter of the special plan is Pescaderías Coruñesas, the company that owns the three buildings. The buildings occupy a total of 1,513 m2 and are included in the General Catalogue of Protected Buildings of the General Urban Development Plan, with the highest level of protection, level 1.
Once the renovations have been completed, the three buildings will house a five-star luxury hotel with 70 rooms and suites, an extensive gastronomic offer, spa and fitness centre, rooftop terrace, and the historic theatre with approximately 600 seats.
