Mandarin Oriental to open its first European resort in Mallorca

16 October, 2024

The Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra hotel is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2025 and has already started its recruitment process. The resort will have 131 rooms, including 44 suites and nine bungalows located on the seafront on the Costa d’en Blanes (Calviá, Mallorca). According to the owners of the property, Blasson Property, it will “offer its guests the most prestigious and exclusive services in the world”.

Initially, the opening of Europe’s first Mandarin Oriental branded resort was scheduled for this year but the comprehensive refurbishment of the luxury hotel was delayed. In fact, the Estudio Lamela Arquitectos studio emphasises on its website that the project is expected to be completed “in the second half of 2024”.

The main characteristic of the project is the integration and adaptation with the landscape, so it will have a horizontal distribution, divided into three: services, living rooms and bedrooms, which will be linked by a vertical communication nucleus. The complex is completed by the bungalows that will be scattered among the gardens.
