How advance bookings are evolving in hotels in Spain

Advance hotel bookings for accommodation in Spain have rebounded again in the last week. The market share of early bookings (more than 90 days ahead) has reached 25%, according to a report by the specialised company TravelgateX.

So according to data collected from 28 October to 3 November, in the Region of Madrid, they grew by 14%, in the Canary Islands by 11%, in Catalonia by 10% and in the Balearic Islands by 5%. However, the increase has been most noticeable in the Basque Country with 14%. Catalonia, the Region of Madrid, Andalusia and the Canaries have the most advance bookings, followed by the Balearic Islands and the Region of Valencia.

As for how far in advance the booking is made, TravelgateX data indicates that 24.76% are made over 90 days in advance, while those made between 61 and 90 days in advance account for 5.43%, those between 31 and 60 days in advance account for 13.39% and those between 15 and 30 days in advance account for 13.06%.
