3 Benidorm beaches renew their Ecoplayas certification
5 March, 2025The environmental management of Benidorm’s beaches has once again been recognised by the Technical Association for Waste Management, Urban Cleaning and the Environment (ATREGUS), which has awarded three Ecoplayas flags for the Levante, Poniente and Mal Pas beaches.
These three beaches have won these awards again this year for “the highest quality of the water, the sand and the services” offered by the city, which has made Benidorm “a tourist destination par excellence and the European capital of sun and sand”, according to the councillor for Beaches, Mónica Gómez.
Gómez emphasised the importance of the Ecoplayas award because it endorses the quality of the beaches “from an environmental, tourist and sustainability point of view, with the aim of publicising their efforts, innovations and achievements”. The councillor pointed out that, in addition to these Ecoplayas flags, the beaches of Benidorm “have numerous and demanding quality seals”.
