The Palacio de la Magdalena in the Cantabrian capital has hosted a working day for the “Experiencias Turismo España” [Spain Tourism Experiences] project, where these 7 cities have set out to study the events sector with the aim of strengthening it in a sustainable way that will stand the test of time.

The mayor of Santander and vice-president of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), Gema Igual, explained that “with one million euros of European funds and an agreement with the Secretary of State for Tourism, the Federation has called on seven cities with a track record and experience”, seeking “leading” locations to analyse and then replicate throughout Spain.
