Ibiza, Barcelona, Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca, leaders in nightlife
20 September, 2023The ranking of the capitals and main tourist areas where the recreational activity of leisure and entertainment venues is concentrated in Spain during the summer months is headed by Ibiza, Barcelona, Malaga/Costa del Sol, Alicante/Costa Blanca, Playa de las Americas in Tenerife and A Coruña. This is reflected in a study carried out by the Federación Nacional de Empresarios de Ocio y Espectáculos and Coca-Cola.
The origin of the public who go to the leisure venues is divided between 46.26% of local customers, 24.48% from the same province, 16.31% of national tourists and 12.92% international; so the average tourist audience is almost a third, 29.2% specifically, although it goes up to 80% in beach destinations and on the islands.
For this reason, almost 70% of discotheques, bars, clubs, nightclubs, shows and concerts are adapted to improve their service to tourists. Specifically, 32.38% of these venues have hired staff who speak more than one language, 18.18% have signage in several languages in the premises and 13.64% have marketing departments specialised in tourism.
